Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

What is SSP?

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a non-invasive intervention that uses specially filtered music to regulate the autonomic nervous system, helping your child and you to better process sensory information and improve emotional regulation.

How SSP is Used

Heather uses the SSP program with infants and children who have experienced trauma in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Additionally, this protocol supports children who have suffered from ear infections, feeding challenges, surgeries, and pain.

SSP is most beneficial when mothers also undergo this vagal nerve toning protocol to help with maternal anxiety and depression. When mothers’ (and all caregivers’) nervous systems are regulated, it is easier for children’s nervous systems to develop and regulate.
